The Lunar Chronicles is yet another amazing series that I have stumbled upon in my hours spent on GoodReads. Marissa Meyer takes old fairy tales such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White and gives them a twist that makes them anything but normal. This story, or better yet stories, is based in a futuristic world where humans, cyborgs, and androids all live together.
Cinder: This being the first book in the series the author tries to really catch the reader’s attention in a very fast way, which I think she is great at doing. Cinder is, of course, based off of Cinderella, This story follows 16 year old Linh Cinder who is a cyborgs. She lives with her stepmother and yep! You guessed it, her two stepsisters. She works as a mechanic in the market, one day she meets a customer who is… special, Prince Kai! He asks Cinder to fix his android, and of course things go wrong as she runs into many complications trying to fix the android and trying to find the prince again. Along her journey she meets Carswell Throne, and escaped prisoner, who reminds me of Jack Sparrow… (There should be a captain in there somewhere!) CAPTAIN Thorne has a ship that he uses to get himself and Cinder to safety away from the prison they were being kept in. They stick together through the books, and help the other characters that are met.

Scarlet: The second book is based on Little Red Riding Hood. This story follows 18 year old Scarlet Benoit who is trying to find her grandmother who mysteriously disappeared. Scarlet of course believes the worst and thinks her grandmother has been kidnapped and is being tortured. She meets a street fighter named Wolf (who she later falls in love with XD don’t tell anyone!) Wolf was genetically-modified and trained for the (evil) queen’s army. Wolf goes along with Scarlet because he wants to help her find her grandmother and he also happened to be heading in the same direction. Do Scarlet and Wolf succeed in locating Scarlet’s grandmother? Or do they just simply unlock more questions then they ones the already had?
Cress: Based off of Rapunzel, Captain Thorne, Cinder, Wolf, and Scarlet work together to rescue Cress (a.k.a Rapunzel) however she is not being held in a simple tower, she is being kept in a satellite, which happens to be hurdling around the earth… will this prove to be a problem for the fantastic four? I guess you’ll just have to read to find out! ;)
Winter: This is the last book in the series, well at least as far as we know of; I don’t have much to tell you about this book because I haven’t even read it yet. It is based off of Snow White. The expected publication date for this book is November 10, 2015! Which I guess its not that far away… *help! I can’t wait that long!*
These really are great book, but if you are one of those people who hate reading a series before all the books are out, then I would wait until just before November to start reading them. Then you can pick Winter up as soon as it comes out! Thanks for reading me babble on and on about the books I love!... again!
